Privacy Policy
Algorithm Visualizer Lab is an educational app for exploring algorithms through interactive visualizations. This policy explains what the app stores, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information stored on your device
The app stores learning preferences and progress locally, including bookmarks, recently opened lessons, challenge completion and scores, experiment history, tasks, notification state, theme, playback speed, and reduced-motion preference. The core lessons and visualizers work offline.
Cloud sync
When Firebase is available, the app creates a temporary anonymous Firebase Authentication account and uses its random user ID to sync the learning profile to Cloud Firestore. The synced profile contains the learning data described above. It does not contain your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising identifier.
Firebase is provided by Google. Firebase may process technical information such as network information to provide, secure, and operate its services. See Firebase Privacy and Security for more information about Firebase processing and retention.
How we use information
Learning data is used only to provide the app's lessons, progress history, settings, and cross-session cloud sync when Firebase is available. Algorithm Visualizer Lab does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or data for tracking across other companies' apps and websites.
Your choices and deletion
You can use Settings → Reset local progress to clear the local learning profile and reset the synced profile. If cloud sync is enabled, Settings also includes Delete cloud profile. That action deletes the anonymous Firebase account and its synced Firestore profile, disables future cloud sync on that app installation, and resets local data. The app continues to work locally afterward.
Children
The app is a general educational tool and does not knowingly request or collect personal information from children. It does not require an account, name, email, or contact details to use the learning experience.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app's data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a new version is published.
